I designed Chee 4.0 when I was a patient in the hospital. My right hand was cut at the base of 4 fingers, and I had just been through a complex plastic surgery. I was in bed. I had a metalic taste in my mouth after the intubation. It was unbearable. Intubation feels really bad afterwards.
I asked the nurse to please bring me something to change the aweful taste in my mouth. She came back with a bag full of an assortment of PLASTIC-disposables, bottles, bowls, tubes, brush, weighting a pound at least.
Shuffling hurriedly through the bag with my left hand, I was frustrated that the toothbrush, mouthwash, toothpaste, cup, water bottle, and bowl needed more than a left hand. Besides, I was a righty. Imagine joggling this stuff putting toothpaste on the toothbrush, mouth rinse, spit-bowl, chased by some water, when your are flat on your back, in bed.
I thought brushing should need no plastics, no hands, no water, no cups, no bowls, no toothpaste or tube, no mouth-wash or bottle, no toothbrush, no fluoride, no batteries or electricity, no machines, just a sweet experience in bed.
Then I asked myself what I am about to ask you. What if you are on board of a plane, in a rocket, in a car, in a train in school? Can you put something like a gum in your lunch box, with MRE, or in your pocket? Where can you get brushing in the middle of the day. Where can you get brushing on the go? CHEE 4.0.
